Artem Andreichuk
Artem Andreichuk, born in Kyiv in 1983, is a Ukrainian artist who graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, where he studied painting under the guidance of Prof. Mikhail Guida. After his studies, he experimented with various media including enamel, ceramics, glass, decorative putty, foam plastic, and epoxy resin. In recent years, he has primarily focused on traditional media such as oil and acrylic paintings. Andreichuk has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ukraine and internationally, including at the Test Gallery in Barcelona, Lysenko Gallery in London, and the Modern Art Research Institute in Kyiv. He was also a prize winner at the 5th Painting Festival in La Ferte-Bernard, France, in 2013.
Andreichuk's artistic practice is deeply rooted in portraying the naked human body in its natural form, emphasizing its harmony with nature, sensuality, and allure. He also creates minimalistic landscapes, aiming to capture the tranquility and grandeur of the sky, as well as optical effects observed during sunrise or sunset. His work often explores themes of authenticity and radical honesty, presenting figures stripped of pretense.
Beyond painting, music plays a significant role in Andreichuk's creative life. For many years, he was the bass guitarist for the Ukrainian indie band Blake Maloka. He finds a strong connection between the complex structures and rhythms of 1960s jazz music and his recent abstract works, noting that both require an unhurried and thoughtful approach.
